FLAMINGOS is a large scale diptych of flamingos expressively cut,inked,hand-rubbed,and painted.
These Japanese style, hand-rubbed woodcuts are on Gampi paper backed with 100 Kozo paper and archival wheat paste. These 88.5" x 93.75" woodcuts use several pigment materials- oil-based relief inks, Japanese water colors and fermented persimmon juice (KAKISHIBU)- to enrich the color experience.
The diptych is framed in shadow boxes with tan linen covered liners and UV protected, glare reducing plexiglass and hangs within the shadow boxes by Japanese hinged float mounts.
